With a cooling capacity of 800 cubic feet, the Mermaid 9,000 BTU unit is designed to cool / heat up to a 30′ cruiser or a 32′ sailboat.
The smallest 9,000 BTU on the market; it is almost the same size as the Mermaid M6 unit. In order to keep the smallest footprint on the market, Mermaid utilizes the same stainless steel base as the Mermaid M6 (6500 BTU) unit. This unit will run off of a Honda 2000 generator. This unit is available in right, left, or top air discharge configurations. Mermaid uses a 6″ and 4″ ducting and recommend a minimum of three 4″ round supply grills with this installation.
With Electric Heating Function
When the electric heating feature is activated on your Mermaid A/C unit, a radiant heat strip placed in the evaporator shroud heats up and the fan blows 5,680 BTUs of hot air into the cabin. Neither the compressor nor the water pump is required for this. This means the electric heating feature can be run even while the boat is out of the water.
Take note though, electric heat mode draws more power than reverse cycle heating (10 extra amps).

- Refunds on returned items will be issued in the same payment form as tendered at the time of purchase. Once your order cancel request is accepted or we receive and inspect the product, we will credit your account.
- Once we issue your refund, it may take additional time for your financial institution to make funds available in your account. Please allow 5-10 days for a credit to appear on your account. If payment was made by check, the refund check will not be issued before 10 business days after the date of purchase.
